First, I see a gap in EV charging stations in theatres parking spaces where people park their cars for 2-3 hours. Second, the rural areas are the most underserved. I would suggest that MTO downloads the PlugShare app and review the currently installed public chargers. Second, EV chargers are more useful during multiple instances – especially during long travel (length of the trip) – where there should be charging stations installed at the ONroute plazas that would be helpful for people who plan for long trips. Also, I assume it should consider all scenarios provided. Robust public charging relieves range anxiety and encourages EV adoption. Public EV Chargers are critical for long-distance travel. The cost of installing EV Charges is detrimental to increasing public infrastructure as well as current levels of EV adoption. If Ontario were to offer incentives to install chargers and to purchase EVs. this would drive up EV adoption and encourage more public charging.
