Hello! I am a High School student in Vaughan. I appreciate that steps are being taken to make a new provincial park, but I am concerned by the fact that not all of the bog is protected according to the property boundary map. Wetlands are very sensitive ecosystems. Alfred bog cannot be deemed properly conserved unless the entire wetland is protected. Considering the fact that much of the provincial park is already owned by the Ministry or by the NCC, and given the UN recommendation to protect 30% of the Earth's surface by 2030, there is little excuse to not protect the entire bog. I believe that now is by far the best time to ensure that the bog is effectively conserved, rather than partially conserving it and hopefully finishing the job years down the road, or never. Thank you!
