Great idea, but perhaps change the name of the bog to something more meaningful. Connecting the name with either the local culture or landscape would make the name park memorable and increase interest in the area. Continue to protect our natural spaces please.

I think this is a fantastic idea. I thought the bog was already protected? so if it wasn't I must say I am excited it will be. Grew up walking those boardwalks and my children now enjoy them.

I think it is a good idea as there are few places In this part of Ontario and I think it is vital we save this area for future generations. Living in Ottawa I was not aware of its existence.

Our family supports all efforts to create additional provincial parks in Ontario. Natural areas with ecologically important elements should be protected as a priority. Bogs play a huge role in mitigating climate change and in the watershed. Please approve this plan to protect this area.

Motorised vehicles should be limited to use by emergency personnel, ontario parks employees and research groups. Unless population control is required, there is no need for hunting on these lands. Hunting also proves to be a danger to researchers who require access year round. Read more

Peatlands are vital and sensitive habitats that are not renewable, and they are extremely rare in Southern Ontario. Much of the Alfred Bog has already been lost to peat mining. Designating it a provincial park would be an important step in ensuring this important land is preserved. Read more

How does allowing hunting and the use of all-terrain vehicles "protect" this bog? All the fauna and flora that live within this area needs protecting. No way will they be protected under this proposal! Protecting the bog in its entirety is a must.
