This is not acceptable and this proposal should be scrapped in its entirety.
Reach this goal by removing barriers within infill areas. Not by fragmenting the Greenbelt.
The value of environmentally sensitive lands are not part and parcel with one another. Taking hectares from areas in the GTA and “swapping” it for the lands in the Paris Galt area doesn’t work — natural heritage systems along watersheds ARE ALREADY PROTECTED. No one will be permitted to build in these areas already.

These proposed changes counters the intent behind the Greenbelt Plan. The elected officials, please listen and follow the advice of your subject matter experts on staff. They know more about these issues than you. This decision will affect generations to come and set a negative precedent.
