This proposal does not…

This proposal does not mention what type of housing would be created on the Greenbelt lands. If this is to address the housing crisis, then will there be requirements to include affordable housing? Higher density housing? Will there be additional infrastructure to support the housing like transit, schools and hospitals?

Additionally, there is no mention about what kind of land is being removed from the Greenbelt and what it’s being replaced with. The current Greenbelt lands were protected for a reason, but there’s no mention of what that is as well as what environmental impact this will have to wildlife and vegetation.

There is a complete lack of thoroughness in this proposal - if you’re going to reallocate protected lands, it should be much more thoughtful and truly for the benefit of Ontarians, not builders and developers.
