I think this is an absolute travesty to the environment and our democracy. Doug Ford promised not to pave our Greenbelt and has lied to the citizens of this province. Ford claims that he has no choice because thousands of immigrants will be arriving in Ontario. While that is true, why does the housing have to be aimed at the GTA? The new houses are not for immediate immigrants' needs, likely. Why can't these houses be built near London? Windsor? Thunder Bay? This government should be trying to find ways to spread our population around the province? It seems to be this lack of leadership seems to stem from the fact that his developer donors are located in the GTA and the land and houses are more profitable. This government needs to make decisions for people and the environment and stop continuously making decision on behalf of the building industry who donate to Ford.
