We do not need to remove land from the greenbelt in order to meet housing demand. There is plenty of infill development land within urban boundaries that has immediate access to servicing. The government should be focusing on providing moderately more dense housing than single family detached homes in car-dependent subdivisions, which is certainly 90% + of what would be built within these lands if opened up to development (as more dense development wouldn't be justified in these rural areas). Any single family home built today is going to cost well over a million dollars anywhere within an hours drive to the GTA - development within these lands is not going to help newcomers or first time homebuyers, and frankly the governments (at all three levels) hesitance to incentivize and approve less expensive development is tantamount to selling out our countries future by killing the dream of home ownership to these groups.

Incentivize higher order redevelopment within existing urban boundaries - we can meet density targets through permitting development of low-mid rise apartments, townhomes, duplexes, etc. in areas where there are already grocery stores, public transportation, and hospital access.

Please do not needlessly waste land for expensive low density when we have better alternatives available.
