I oppose this proposal…

I oppose this proposal because it does not take into consideration the wisdom of our conservation authorities in preserving health of our natural resources, particularly in a time of climate change. I live in a region where the local conservation authority has preserved our beautiful green space for the enjoyment of our citizens but also for ensuring that the watersheds continue to function as they should. There are ways to provide housing that do not encroach on our diminishing greenspace. Listen to the urban planners and conservation experts who can provide this counsel without compromising our much-needed greenspace.
I write this as a health care worker who has been both disappointed and angered at the neglect of the provincial government in addressing a prolonged crisis arising from the pandemic, all of which could have been better managed by listening to experts whose life’s work wisdom would have prevented this.
Please listen to the experts on this and not to developers whose primary objective is to make profit from resources that, once destroyed, cannot easily come back.
