As a lifelong resident of Ontario, I am greatly concerned by the plan to develop the Green Belt. The protected wetlands and forests that make up the Green Belt are not only vital to our province’s biodiversity, but they also provide marked benefits for our climate by storing carbon that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere. Plans to develop the Green Belt must be stopped, if not for our biodiversity or climate, then at least for the biking trails and campsites that have provided local families with years of active, fun-filled summers. Consider this plea and STOP the development of Ontario’s Green Belt!
