Hello,
As a terrestrial Ecologist I would like to convey my opposition to the proposed changes to the greenbelt plan. Each area has different ecological functions and cannot simply be swapped out for another land parcel without causing ecological harm. The nature of the changes are encouraging urban sprawl for large detached houses that take up too much space, too expensive for many to afford, and will not solve the current housing issues. This government should be working to encourage smart growth, such as increasing population density and creating complete communities.
Thanks,
David
