Housing affordability is important but developing in the greenbelt is NOT necessary to fix the problem. Ontario has a lot of land that isn't in the greenbelt. There are also lots of areas in cities with homes in shambles or foreclosed upon that could be ripped down and put in a high density living area.
To open up the green belt for development just to put single occupancy homes in is a spit in the face for many Ontarians. Most of us cannot afford these large homes and they go up slower and cost to much regardless.
We should not be touching the greenbelt. Leave it alone and stop selling out to developers.
