You are breaking your promise not to "touch" the Greenbelt. These are protected spaces for a reason. It goes against what the Greenbelt is for. Is there also work being done to address the land within our municipal boundaries to build homes for people? I'm not convinced that these lands need to be filled with houses in order to solve the housing crisis, which apparently is the purpose of this amendment but it is not clearly outlined HOW this helps solve the crisis. Where are the numbers and consultations on that? How do we know that the development in these areas will be affordable homes? Where is the consultation and consideration with the Indigenous communities as well. Overall, there seems to be a lack of care for the environment and communities that this proposal is affecting. There is a large focus on the amount of land being swapped but there isn't enough detail and reasoning on why and how this would impact the Greenbelt's in respect to the goal of the Greenbelt Plan.
