I do not agree with the proposal to build on Greenbelt Land. This unique land has been protected to support the diversity of wildlife that lives there and the environment. It is my understanding that there would be major flooding concerns. With the effects of climate change continuing to have an impact it does not make fiscal sense to build housing that has the potential to flood year after year.

There will have to be significant infrastructure investment in this area to accommodate buildings on these lands. It has not been made clear how much housing would be added and who it would be tailored too.

I would like to see more investment buildings in cities and communities that already have the infrastructure to support them. We need to focus on density, family housing and affordability. We have space and the ability to build density in the GTA.

Premier Doug Ford stated in his campaign he would not touch the green belt. There are better ways we can invest Ontarians' taxes then impacting important wildlife and environmental lands.
