The Greenbelt is not the place to be building homes. This is protected land that needs to remain protected for future generations. Every city has many empty office buildings, malls, plazas that are wasting usable land space that could help solve the housing shortage in Ontario. Why not utilize these areas to start building apartments to finally deal with the housing shortage? There is no shortage of buildable land in Ontario cities. It’s unbelievable that the Ontario Government solution is to destroy the Greenbelt. Extremely short sighted with long lasting negative impact on our environment that’s irreversible.
