I am writing this comment to protest the amendment of the GreenBelt Plan. The Greenbelt lands must be maintained, or the vision of having a Greenbelt becomes meaningless. If lands are removed in favour of housing development, when we have lands ready for development outside the Greenbelt, in some municipalities until 2041, we will never see the end of "chipping away" edge lands from the Greenbelt until there is nothing left.

Farmers need protected land so that costs of land do not spiral out of control -- as speculators have shown is their goal and intent.

Ontarians overwhelmingly support the Greenbelt and this was evident in 2018 when voters heard Mr. Ford telling a meeting that if elected he would "open up the Greenbelt". At the time, Mr. Ford was quick to walk-back those comments.

I do not support this proposal and believe this government is making a huge mistake in pushing this through.
