In grade 12 Advanced Geography class we were taught about the Oak Ridges Morraine. How it actually was formed was during the last Ice Age. As the glaciers moved south they pushed forward earth and rocks. It stopped here in Central Ontario...and as it receeded that earth and rock was left behind, and in its wake was the Oak Ridges Morraine and the Greenbelt. Some of the richest, most fertile land on the planet, and it cannot be replaced once built upon thats it, its ability to provide food is forever destroyed.
The natural watersheds, the wetlands, the Kettle Lakes that surround the GTA, all fed by undeground watersheds that must remain in tact and protected.
No one will need a new home if they cant get enough food to eat. Priorities.
Use the lands already in use better. Build more apartment buildings that only require an acre not 100.
