Please do not pass this legislation. I was born and have lived my entire 59 years in Ontario, in the GTA, and am now a constituent very angry with this government's proposed housing legislation. Bill 23 will damage/destroy green spaces, wetlands and farm lands that are critical to the social, economic and environmental health of our region. The removal of development charges for higher density and affordable housing projects will eliminate the funds municipalities require to build the infrastructure for these homes. Doug Ford promised he would not open or alter the greenbelt for development. Bill 23 breaks this vow he made to Ontarians. The need for new housing can be addressed with a more sensible, thoughtful and less harmful plan.
