I don't see any justification for the areas designated as Greenbelt to be developed versus developing areas outside of the Greenbelt. The Greenbelt designation is meaningless if this goes through, and I am strongly opposed to this amendment. It does not appear that the current government has any concern for the environment - whether local or the global picture which includes climate change. The greenbelt designation is not the root cause of the shortfall of housing, nor is developing the land within it the solution. The government and the developers are using the housing shortage to justify this as a proposed solution, but the facts don't support it. This is not the solution.
