This is a terrible idea. Housing can be out without ruining the Greenbelt. The government’s assertion that this is needed to spur housing development is laughable. If the government ended exclusionary zoning like was recommended by the housing task force then we would not need any new land.
Additionally, building this type of housing in the suburbs on greenfield land is the worst way to lock in urban sprawl and make the traffic problems in the GTHA even worse. I am 100% against opening up the Greenbelt for any development.
