This Bill undermines decades of policy meant to protect the interest of all Ontarian's that allowed for a built form that considers our environment, heritage and urban landscape.

As written, this Bill is suspect (at best) of who actually benefits, and it’s alarming! It seems to favour developers over Ontarians.

The Bill’s aim was to provide affordable housing - but the first draft of the bill was criticized by industry experts that it wouldn’t do much to help build affordable housing. It was THEN that this bill should of been revised and rewritten.

We are also currently facing a Climate Crisis and we need to balance this fact with proper development. We can’t ignore this reality. Deregulating our Greenbelt is NOT the answer. We need to be innovative and build QUALITY communities in the area we have now. Not just building on our greenfields for the sake of building - urban sprawl does NOT solve a housing crisis!! Please let’s Step forward not step back.

This bill needs to go back to the drawing board. It needs to be revised to not hurt hard working Ontarians, our environment and our heritage buildings & landscapes - these are all we have. Let’s build an Ontario we can all be proud of!

Listen to the experts not just your lobbyists!
