This is a horrible plan that will greatly affect the environment. Redesignating areas of the Greenbelt will affect keystone species harm the delicate to ecosystems of the Oak Ridges Moraine. These areas are needed as flood plains and to protect wildlife. Developing homes in this area will increase commuter traffic as the area will not be services by public transportation. In addition, this plans does nothing to address the soaring housing costs for the lower and lower middle class who will be unable to afford these homes. Instead this plan will only serve developers who want to make multi-million dollar homes that few can afford. This plan is short-sighted, greedy and does nothing to help the housing crisis for those with the greatest need, low income earners.
