It appears irresponsible to cancel an existing climate change plan without having a plan to replace it. While the province has said that it is going to develop a replacement climate change plan, no details of the new plan have been released. Therefore, it is difficult to comment on this proposed cancellation. Nevertheless, know that I want a climate change plan that ensures that companies pay for the true costs of conducting their business (i.e. current and future environmental costs associated with their activities and products are factored) not taxpayers. I want all revenue generated from this to be directed into climate change action including clean energy solutions, the creation of jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy, and programs to help people save energy and reduce their consumption of fossil fuels. I also want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts to fossil fuel companies.
