I am wondering where the provincial and federal public documents regarding an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Impact Assessment (IA) are and what companies have been hired to consult and sit in on the meetings regarding the industrialization of critical habitat. For this project to be approved so quickly, there would have had to be numerous meetings and EA/IA documents reviewed. Because there is no information on the Iaac website via the government of Canada I am assuming that this was all done under the table and not following the law.

Also because the greenbelt involves traditional lands of three different Indigenous Bands and communities, Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Huron-Wendat, by law, there is a duty to consult that must happen as well as a hired consultant to represent the Indigenous communities to then relay the information back to them, as well as possible Traditional Knowledge (TK) studies to be completed. If you are not aware of what I am talking about then you are not qualified and if none of these steps have been completed then this is illegal.

The Canadian government has decided to finally impose these studies - EA, IA and duty to consult with TK studies- so that under-the-table dealings of vulnerable environmental habitat cannot be turned into development such as Doug Ford plans to do.

I suggest he and the government read this comment as a 'wake up' symbol and follow the law, complete the EA, IA and TK.
