What is the justification…

What is the justification for removal of Greenbelt in Courtice -Clarington by Nash Road Development by Tannenbaum when we know that this area is not a suitable area for the proposed development?

Protection of Oshawa Second Marsh and its watershed (2).jpg Agreement with Town and Region -two highest degree of sensitivity areas should be protected (meaning trees/setback,...). How will its removal affect the functioning of the watershed?
I would like to remind you that this watershed of Farewell, Black And Harmony is the only area with two highest degrees of sensitivity and it is part of the largest wetland complex in southern GTA.
There were many Agreements made between the Region, Province and Federal government. Our Group, Friends of the FarewellI took part in its protection for very good reasons. By not adhering to these Agreements, we are now suffering from flooding, pooling but on the other side by extreme dryness, especially agricultural land.
Our aquifer is different from other normal aquifers. It has a high but shallow water table. This aquifer is underlain by clay that is creating a bathtub effect throughout Courtice north and Darlington Ward 1. This UNCONFINED aquifer is vulnerable to any disturbance.
The most profound effect on public health is due to the runoff to areas within the urban boundary or Darlington Ward 1 instead of infiltration into ground, as it used to be here. There were no ditches, diversion of groundwater flow and there were many tributaries that are not buried underground.

The name itself = Groundwater means that it is supposed to be underground. I do not remember any ticks, mosquitoes or red ants being here. Now, they are plentiful. All over.
We are in your hands now. Either you will protect our health or not. What will be your response?
The reason I am late with my comments is that I was bitten 2 weeks ago by lack legged ticks that cause Lyme disease. I am taking medication, but it is a lengthy process to be healed. Many other people living here now suffer from the same causes.
I believe that you should see my soreness to realize what the additional land like Tannenbaum's will cause here.

1. Will Tannenbaum contribute financially to the expansion of the Courtice Water Pollution Plant? EA is planned by the Region next year. I requested this also at the regional online meeting on Budget 2023. UV filtration and other requirements for the improved performance of this plant.

2. Will Tanenbaum contribute financially to the rehabilitation of Hancock Road that looks like this now and worse at some points Hancock 3.GIF

3. Will Tannenbaum contribute to additional Parkland that is needed to accommodate the population?

4. Will Tannenbaum contribute financially to stop the flooding under the Hwy 418 bridge?

5. Will Tannenbaum allocate on his land wildlife linkages that were cut off by Hwy 418. No spanned structure over the marshes and wetlands or restoration of habitat for END, THR, and SPECIES at Risk done, This was the requirement of the EA. Mind you, these are species that consume ticks and mosquitoes. Without them, people will suffer. Eco-psassages from the PSW on the west side of Tannenbaum's land MUST be constructed by our Works and financial contribution of the developer.

6. Significant trees like hundred years old hemlock, silver birches, etc. stand MUST BE PROTECTED. These are not found anywhere else. Even the first settlers admired them and left them there.

Will Tannenbaum protect this old growth?

5. Seepage zones along tributaries MUST be protected. We have now runoff from Tannenbaum's land in eastern ditch of Hancock Road that is causing flooding of private properties. What will happen to this ditch?

6. Setback and buffer from the Hwy must be allocated on developer's land to protect people from air and noise pollution coming from trucks coming from Preterborough. What setback will be needed?

I have no idea where the stormwater pond on this land would be located since Blackbird, construction company, have specifically requested our Municipality not to allow runoff from adjacent properties towards Hwy. Hwy itself though is allowing their runoff through the whole width of Tannenbaum's property toward private properties on Hancock Road. 418 marsh.GIF The outfall from this pond would enter the cold stream Black Creek at a 90 degree angle along private properties south of Nash Road flooding their properties even more. This would cause bank erosion at the place of salmon run and their spawning ground below and around the bridge.

How will the runoff be accommodated on Tannnebaum's land?

How will the residents on Tannenbaum's land be protected from unbearable air, soil and water pollution altogether?

Will the Province contribute financially to Clarington to accomodate all unknown, not planned impacts?
