What is the point of having a green belt if you’re just going to cut out parts and “put them elsewhere”? This sets an EXTREMELY dangerous precedent… at this point why not just put the entire green belt in the middle of Thunder Bay and open the entire south part of Ontario for development. Stop this. Please. The green belt is needed for biodiversity but also the roles it plays in maintaining water systems in the area and healthy soil. We can still build up downtown, stop the urban suburbia sprawl. It’s not affordable and hurts the planet, not to mention it’s the death of community and culture.
