The Greenbelt was created to restrict urban sprawl and prevent overdevelopment of the Greater Golden Horseshoe into all of the natural areas surrounding it. The proposal by the current government to carve away chunks of the Greenbelt to open them for development is short sighted and unethical. It is understood that we need housing for Ontarians, however if you look at many of the current developments, especially ones that advertise green spaces, forest living, open water etc you will see that most have similar problems. The lots are oversize, the houses are enormous and the prices are out of reach for the average citizen. This is directly opposite to what is needed in housing and needed to reduce our climate change impact. This evidences that our current government cannot effectively and efficiently use the land they have now. What evidence is there that they should be allowed to misuse more of the Greenbelt?

Do not amend the legislation.

Preserve the Greenbelt.
