Request for a modification to amend Site and Area Specific Policies 656 and 657 in the Official Plan Amendment to substitute alternative minimum density mapping. The Official Plan Amendment delineates Major Transit Station Areas, and establishes minimum densities as directed by the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe. However, the City of Toronto has identified minimum densities that are artificially low - thus effectively defeating the intention of provincial policy. As a result, the Official Plan Amendment is not in conformity with the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, and is not consistent with provincial policy objectives to make efficient use of public investments in transit infrastructure. The Minister is requested to modify by substituting alternative density mapping for the Bloor-Lansdowne GO and Lansdowne major transit station areas in Site and Area Specific Policies 656 and 657.
