How is it possible that the province of Ontario continues to reject climate science? Climate change is a real threat and as an environmental and economic leader, all of Canada needs to have a plan to do its part and reduce emissions. Such a plan can also help people save energy and create jobs in the $26 trillion clean economy.
Ontario should maintain its role as a leader in renewable energy and help mitigate climate change through a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of citizens so they can lower their carbon footprint. Legally binding emissions targets are a crucial component that will help us meet our obligations under the Paris Climate Agreement. Furthermore, I believe that Ontario should end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions.
