As a local fisherman and remote tourism based outfitter operating 8 fly in outpost cabins am opposed to these changes for live bait. I am very strongly opposed to a NO BAIT policy in provincial parks and conservation reserves. I operate outpost cabins in a park and live near a conservation reserve and my family and guests have fished these water ways with live bait for years. Live bait is a huge asset when fishing and without it, will be very difficult and hurt many of the businesses in our area. I am also opposed to needing a receipt as a resident and being required to dispose of bait after a specific date. If more restrictions are needed it should be put on the bait trappers on how and where the bait can be trapped and transported. My biggest issue is the NO BIAT policy for parks and conservation reserves. This will hurt many local businesses, bait harvesters, and make it very difficult for fishermen to catch fish on lots of different lakes.
