To whom it may concern,
This proposal goes in the face of the purpose the Provincial Parks were originally designed for. Such areas are designed for conserving all kinds of ecology and environments, regardless of their rarity or uniqueness. All development in these areas should have a little impact to those environments as possible, so a long and careful consideration and consultation process is absolutely necessary, with no shortcuts and as few loopholes as possible. While existing buildings may require expedited approval for needed renovations to include new monitoring equipment and more accessible amenities, this new proposal suggests that new structures will not have the necessary oversight to reduce environmental impact.
Additionally, the recent Auditor General report on new polices regarding the Greenbelt demonstrates the current leadership's carelessness for conservation. This presents a lack of consideration that is needed when managing ecological sensitive areas, suggesting that this news proposal has been made in bad faith towards constituents, instead favouring commercial and mass-scale residential development for profit.
I urge the current leadership to reconsider this proposal, and either abandon it or develop one which genuinely takes the environmental impact of new development seriously.
Sincerely,
A concerned resident of Ontario
