Hi gang,

I understand that some of the lands that were removed by this legislation was truly environmentally sensitive land that should never have been removed from the Greenbelt, but the land in Grimsby should never have been in the Greenbelt in the first place.

Soil studies have been provided to the province by the Town of Grimsby showing that this land is not good farmland.

Some of the land in the Greenbelt includes the Rogers Towers land by the lake which has had AM radio towers on it since the 1970s. This land is listed as tender fruit land.

While we acknowledge that mistakes were made in the process, this does not change the fact that this land in Grimsby, as well as other parcels including brownfields, should be removed from the Greenbelt.
