They haven't fulfilled their promise for five years, and the emissions still exceed the safe limits, with 12 times the permissible level of Sulphur and four times that of Nitrogen. This poses a threat to the residents in this area.
They lack detailed methods to meet the new emission standards and are requesting an additional 10 years from the government. During the residents' meeting held by Ash Grove Cement Company last November, they only presented a plan for improvement based on theoretical technology.
If this continues, our area could become uninhabitable. It seems like we, the residents, are serving as a model for gauging the impact of polluted air on the human body. No one wants to live here, and those who do may be at risk of developing cancer and other diseases.
I love this area, and I am raising my kids here. However, I am deeply concerned about air pollution resulting from the Sulphur and Nitrogen emissions from the cement company.
While the cement business is crucial for the city and government, it's essential to consider that without residents, neither the city nor the government can survive.
Please protect us!!
