I disagree and fail to understand how hundreds or thousands of anglers who personally harvest their own bait-fish such as myself from areas like the shorelines of Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, the St. Clair River or the Detroit River only to fish in those exact same waterbodies that the bait came from is going to achieve anything in this proposal. Anglers are catching bait in these areas to fish for yellow perch, walleye and white bass in the same areas the bait came from. Their are no local inland lakes that anglers are fishing with this bait! We don't have inland lakes here!

Your proposal will make it illegal for anglers to catch their own bait from lets say the Detroit River, take the bait to their car and drive down the road 1 km back to the Detroit River to fish, this is ridiculous. You can apply this real life scenario to all the waterbodies I listed above as it happens just like this thousands of times a year. Do you have any comprehension of how much this occurs in these areas? How are people going to fish without live bait? The bait shops are very limited at best when they have bait and many anglers don't drive and can't afford to buy bait. Some people have a hard enough time affording a fishing licence let alone buying bait 20 km away!
