While the proposed amendments are a great step in the right direction, it is still very clear that certain industries are being caught in a regulation that is much better suited for non-industrial sectors. Has the government considered additional lenience or exceptions specific to the mining industry? There are several instances where very costly endeavors would need to be undertaken to satisfy the requirements of the excess soils regulations that are unpractical.
