The proposal for mine exploration must be rejected. Mining is not just a temporary disruption—it causes lasting devastation to the environment, threatening ecosystems, wildlife, and human livelihoods. When the earth is dug up, animal habitats are destroyed, forcing species to flee or die, and the balance of biodiversity is irreparably harmed. Toxic runoff from mining pollutes rivers, lakes, and groundwater, endangering fish, wildlife, and the communities that rely on these waters for sustenance. Hunting and fishing, critical sources of food and cultural identity for many, are put at grave risk. The scars left behind by mining are permanent, while the profits are fleeting and benefit only a few. Protecting the land, water, and future generations must take priority over short-term exploitation. This is not progress—it’s destruction disguised as development, and it must not move forward.
