I am commenting on the proposal for an interim combined sewer to support development at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard (Ontario Place). I am opposed to the proposal which goes against decades of work by City of Toronto to separate and replace combined sewers across the city to prevent the discharge of raw sewage into Lake Ontario. This is very much in opposition to international agreements to protect water quality and important biodiverse habitat in the Great Lakes. This toxic effluent also risks human health in terms of beach water quality, fishing and aquatic dependent wildlife and migratory birds that often use fish as a resource. combined with precipitation runoff of these proposed project updates as well as greatly diminishing the lake water quality and will become a great deterrent for tourism and locals from using and spending money in these areas. The province has not held any consultations about this work with the public, clearly not aligned with public interests, decimating biodiversity of this area and threatening long term stability of the lake ecosystem. Deny this permit.
