Happy to be listened to - I like the new Ford ads that say he's listening to Ontarions although I am pretty sure he's listening to developers. I am commenting on the proposal for an interim combined sewer to support development at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard (Ontario Place - although really perhaps it's more accurately now Therme Place). I am opposed to the proposal which goes against DECADES of work by the City of Toronto to REPLACE combined sewers to prevent raw sewage going into Lake Ontario. Why would you start something that we know is wrong and damaging - our children will have to clean up this mess. Please think of the kids! This move clearly goes against international agreements to protect water quality and habitat in the Great Lakes. This government is responsbile for killing a wildlife sanctuary park which I have enjoyed my whole like and now you want to help kill a Great Lake? This effluent also risks harm to human health, in terms to water quality at beaches, fishing and the quality of the lake as an attraction for Canadian and international visitors. All those tourists you hope to attract will be disgusted by what they see in the lake. Many of us don't have cottages or cars so I know you don't care but we need clean beaches and a clean Lake Ontario. If you keep building shoebox condos and pollute the lake so no one has any hope of participating in nature, there are going to be more problems. This is common sense for our mental health and our children. This proposal is not in the public interest. It's for profit for a public park. Please. Please use your money and your wealth for a healthy future for our kids. Listen to Ontarions so we have a place to grow.
