The Ontario provincial government's decision to allow raw sewage to be pumped into a body of water that provides recreation, drinking water and habitat for aquatic life is irresponsible as well as a breach of public trust. The resulting decline in water quality and increase in toxicity will harm humans, fish and wildlife. The impacts will damage health, tourism, the economy, and the reputation of the provincial government for its obvious lack of judgment. To accommodate an unnecessary building project, this government is willing to risk the well-being of citizens and the resources we depend on.
