I oppose these changes. Allowing the government to have final discretion of what constitutes an endangered species is wrong. The government isn't full of experts that know exactly what an endangered species could be. Why should they be able to decide what should be on the list and what shouldn't. Also changing the habitat to only include an animal's dwelling and the immediate surrounding area? That is not a habitat! A habitat is what an animal relies on to live , so it's more than just its dwelling. Also also allowing companies to start projects immediately after registering, as opposed to waiting for a permit tells me this is not about protecting the environment but instead speed lining development for projects that you know would have been rejected in the original act, probably for a reason. These changes are dangerous and should be rejected.
