Grow Native Halton Stands Firm Against changes to Species Protection Act. A more honest title should be "Protect Developers interest...".
We are deeply alarmed by the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act and the erosion of protections for Canada’s most vulnerable wildlife. The removal of registration and permit requirements for impacts on migratory birds and aquatic species under the federal Species at Risk Act is not only short-sighted—it is appalling. These changes threaten to undo decades of hard-won progress in biodiversity conservation.
At Grow Native Halton, we believe this is not just a policy shift—it is an environmental war crime against future generations, against Indigenous stewardship, and against the species who cannot speak for themselves. We will not stand by.
We are ready to mobilize. We are ready to raise our voices. And we will continue to protect and restore native habitat—because a landscape without its native species is a betrayal of everything we fight for.
