The changes to this act will immensely negatively impact our environment, oir health, our children, and our careers.

I was both incredibly disappointed in our government and outraged when I first read the changes outlined in this proposal!

Preserving the future of our environment ans the species within is the only way to ensure the security of our future and our children. Without the preservation of this act, the spaces and species it protects will perish due to continued construction. The bulk of these spaces include wetland species such as turtles, and without any legislation in place to prevent wetland removal, we will continue to pollute our drinking water with runoff without any vegetation to help filter out contaminants. We are animals, and we are a part of this planet and it's network. Without preserving Canada's important wildlife and important spaces, then we have no clean water and no hope for the future of Canada's environmental health.

By changing this act, you are no better than the Trump presidency that's working to hard to dismantle any remaining greenspaces in the USA! Trump doesn't care about the next generation's sustainability or health, because his goals are to 1) make money and 2) die before he sees the consequences of his actions...but this is my HOME, and I DO have a future to protect for me and my kids! I wouldn't have a career in conservation biology without species to study and protect. And I would never have become as inspired to learn more and protect the natural world if I hadn't experienced the beauty of Canada's backyards my entire childhood. My children need something to be inspired by, something to be passionate about, and something to connect with--don't take away the protective legislature that ensures that I can share that beauty with them or my grandchildren. And don't take away the funding for my career.

Wether you care about the enviornment or not--this act protects our wildlife, therefore it protects us. The least we can do as a government, is ensure we keep those spaces and species safe--to ensure that we have a future to look towards.

Stop this now. Before you become no better than Trump.
