In today's ever changing climate and the need to increase environmental protections for future generations, I personally believe it is reprehensible of the Ontario Government to even consider any of the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act, 2007.
This policy used to be the gold standard legislation of environmental protection, and it's absolutely embarrassing to even consider narrowing protected habitats so that the Ontario government can further auction off our once beautiful province to the highest development bidders. It's laughable that consumers are the ones who are constantly encouraged to be as environmentally conscious as we can when our government is able to decide that any endangered or species at risk isn't as important as nonsensical, vanity projects of infrastructure that don't really do anything to support those that live here.
Once our waterways are poisoned by mining waste water run off, once fertile land is buried under asphalt and our native pollinators and food web has disappeared - I hope those who sought to gain from our collective destruction realize they cannot eat money.
