Good morning,

I am writing to express my opposition to Bill 5 and the proposed repeal of the Endangered Species Act in Ontario.
While I appreciate and support the need to develop much needed housing and strengthen our economy, it is imperative this not be done at the expense of the environment. It has been demonstrated that Ontario has enough land in areas not subject to environment protection to meet proposed housing needs for the next 25 years. There is no reason to weaken environmental protections to achieve these goals.
Our environment and it's health are critical not just to our love and appreciation for our province but also to protect our own health, our drinking water and in providing resilience to climate change.

Ontario would not be Ontario without it's natural beauty, and it's native species. They create the character of this place and are a source of pride for everyone who lives here. Please don't let Bill 5 be one more drop in the bucket towards the loss of something we all hold dear; particularly when other avenues are available towards the resolution of the issues we all face.
