This is absolutely VILE.
Yes housing is important but not at the cost of our wildlife and environment around us. What makes Canada great is how vast our landscapes and wildlife is. This bill is just ripping all of that away, the damage it will cause to our endangered species is irredeemable. You cannot just rip away a species endangered species label and home because you believe where they are located is the perfect spot for a new high rise apartment. We saw what happened with Ontario Place and the mass increase is wildlife spotting within the city due to the displacement of said animals. Coyotes have been spotted by Rogers Centre because their homes were destroyed. The government should NOT have control over removing species from endangered species lists, that should be left to professionals who work directly WITH the wildlife involved, not someone in a suit that has never interacted with several of these species besides maybe a trip to the zoo.
This is not the Canada I love. We need to live in harmony with our wildlife. Not cause harm to them.
