I am strongly opposed to these changes. They are designed to put development and profit above all else, which is dangerous and short-sighted. It is very clear the Ford government does not care at all about harming the environment in pursuit of their agenda, and they are using the excuse of Trump and his tariffs to justify these aggressive and terrible changes. Tabling this legislation right before the Easter weekend was obviously done to avoid as much public awareness as possible, and unfortunately it worked. I am appalled and offended and cannot emphasize enough how strenuously I oppose gutting the ESA. We need a healthy environment to live in. Protecting plants, trees and animals protects humans as well. Please re-think this misguided and dangerous approach.
