I'm strongly opposed to Doug Ford's plan to weaken Ontario's Endangered Species Act under the guise of promoting economic development. This move prioritizes short-term profits over long-term environmental responsibility. Once a habitat is destroyed, there's no getting it back and with it goes the species that rely on it to survive.
The proposed changes would make it easier for developers to bypass protections that are meant to preserve what little wilderness we have left. Letting companies pay into a fund instead of taking real steps to protect at-risk habitats is essentially giving them a license to destroy. That’s not conservation, it’s greenwashing.
