Building is important but…

Building is important but not at the expense of the environment. To ignore protections for species at risk in order to expedite development is to risk eliminating the natural diversity necessary for a healthy ecosystem. Regulations have already weakened Conservation Authorities ability to safeguard wetlands allowing development on flood planes setting the stage for catastrophic damage in the future.

The focus on development is imperative but not at the cost of the environment. We must be judicious in our planning so that we get it done right even if it delays the process.
