Stripping the rights of Ontario's Species at Risk is cruel and short-sighted. Biodiversity is necessary for our natural environment.
Developments can occur by putting the environment first; leave this legislation alone, and hire more officers to ensure legislation is being enforced. Leaving the responsibilities to proponents has proven time and time again that they do not do the right thing and do not care.
"Reducing red tape" doesn't help Ontarians; it harms them. To serve the people of Ontario better, we need better service; that doesn't mean removing requirements, it means ensuring we have enough people to serve us.
It's 2025; no one is interested in living in a gross, industrial-like dystopian future without environmental preservation and a government that doesn't listen to science. The SARA gives a voice to Ontario's most vulnerable populations, and you're actively stripping it from them.
