I strongly oppose Bill 5. This legislation is a serious threat to democratic processes, Indigenous rights and Ontario’s natural heritage. I do not agree with putting short term industrial interests ahead of Ontarians ecological and community health and justice.
Environmental assessments protect nature endangered species and Indigenous rights. Do not create special economic zones in order to destroy the protection that is already in place.
This bill is short sighted. Protection of nature and rights is not a barrier to economic growth.
