This is a huge mistake! The Endangered Species Act needs strengthening not weakening! There are strong signs everywhere that things have changed. We are entering an age, if not already there, where all life as we know it is being threatened. Governments need to recognize our entire electoral system is deeply flawed and consequently we need legislation in place to protect us from ourselves. It’s the natural world that sustains us not the reverse. It’s the natural world that needs protection from us!
As the CO2 in the atmosphere increases life as we know it decreases! Is the lack of housing a symptom of that destabilization? It seems all political solutions need to be founded on good science otherwise self interest and misinformation become the guiding principles which is hardly democratic.
